Some outdoor services fit neatly into one category. Others don’t.
North Country Unlimited provides outdoor services and specialized site capabilities for commercial properties, utility projects, select residential needs, and more throughout Central Pennsylvania. Our work spans property restoration, excavation, clearing, stormwater, concrete, trees, landscaping, snow and other needs that don’t always stop where one contractor’s scope normally ends.
That breadth matters when solving one problem reveals another.
Instead of looking only at the service you initially called about, we look at what you’re trying to accomplish and what it will take to get there. Sometimes that’s one straightforward job. Sometimes it means bringing several North Country capabilities together.
Either way, you can start with one call.
Utility and infrastructure work can leave plenty behind after the primary job is finished.
Property restoration is one of North Country’s largest areas of work. We help restore lawns, landscaping, grading, concrete, sidewalks, fencing, and other affected areas following utility and site work. Because many of those capabilities already exist within our company, we can address more of the property instead of stopping where another contractor’s scope ends.
Different sites call for different ways of getting into the ground.
North Country handles conventional excavation, grading, trenching, site preparation, and related work along with specialized hydro excavation for utility and infrastructure applications. Owning specialized equipment and maintaining experience across other site services also allows us to take on work beyond the excavation itself when the project requires it.

North Country clears land and rights-of-way for utility, commercial, and other projects, with the crews and equipment to prepare the property for what’s coming next.
When clearing is only the first phase, we can also bring in other North Country capabilities for the work that follows.
A stormwater issue doesn’t always have a stormwater-only solution.
North Country maintains and repairs ponds, drainage systems, storm drains, spillways, and related infrastructure, with excavation, clearing, grading, and concrete capabilities available when the work extends beyond routine maintenance.
Sometimes the problem is a damaged sidewalk or section of asphalt. Other times, concrete or site improvements are one part of a larger project.
North Country handles concrete installation and repair, sidewalks and curbs, concrete pad preparation, asphalt repair, parking lot striping, bollard installation, and related improvements. Our broader site capabilities make it easier to coordinate work when demolition, excavation, grading, restoration, or other services are also involved.
Trees can be an asset to a property, a maintenance concern, or an obstacle standing in the way of other work.
Through the North Country family, we provide tree and shrub trimming and removal, stump grinding, tree care, clearing, and related services for residential and commercial properties. The addition of Lenk Tree Service brings decades of local tree service experience to North Country’s broader outdoor capabilities.
Landscaping has been part of North Country’s story for decades, and it remains an important part of what allows us to provide a more complete solution.
Our landscape capabilities include design and installation, planting, grading and seeding, mulching, landscape maintenance, and related property improvements. We can handle landscaping as its own project or use that experience to put a property back together after excavation, utility, tree, or other site work.
Keeping a commercial property accessible doesn’t stop when winter weather arrives.
North Country provides snow removal, plowing, salt spreading, and ice management for commercial properties. Our crews and equipment are built around larger properties and commercial needs rather than residential driveways and small-scale snow removal.
A service list can tell you what a contractor does. It doesn’t always tell you what that contractor is capable of solving.
That’s an important distinction at North Country.
A utility project might begin with excavation but also require concrete removal, grading, fencing, and property restoration before the site is finished. Clearing a right-of-way can lead to additional tree, excavation, or restoration work. Maintenance around a retention pond can uncover drainage problems, damaged infrastructure, or sinkholes that need to be addressed.
Those situations are where our range of site services becomes especially useful.

North Country performs the vast majority of our work with our own crews.
That means when a project crosses from one type of work into another, our first answer doesn’t have to be finding someone else to handle it. We can draw from people, equipment, and experience across multiple disciplines to determine what the project actually needs.
For commercial customers and utility partners, that can mean fewer vendors to onboard, fewer handoffs to coordinate, and one site work contractor that already understands the property and the work underway.
For us, it means taking responsibility for more of the finished result.
Our range of work is broad, but not every North Country service is intended for every customer.
Much of our site, restoration, clearing, stormwater, excavation, and seasonal work supports commercial properties, utilities, contractors, and larger projects throughout Central Pennsylvania and beyond when the scope makes sense.
We also serve residential customers where our capabilities are a good fit, particularly for tree services, landscape design and installation, and larger outdoor projects.
Rather than trying to fit every customer into every service, we start by understanding the property, the problem, and what you’re trying to accomplish.

North Country Unlimited became the company it is today because customers kept asking us to solve problems that weren’t necessarily on our service list.
We added equipment. We learned new skills. We expanded our capabilities. And when a customer needed several kinds of work to complete one project, we learned the value of being able to provide more of the solution ourselves.
Our major service categories can help point you in the right direction, but they aren’t meant to put limits around what North Country can do.
