North Country was built differently. Over the years, customers kept bringing us new problems, and we kept developing the people, equipment and capabilities to solve them.
Today, we self-perform an unusually broad range of work for utilities, businesses, property owners and other organizations throughout Central Pennsylvania. That means fewer contractors to coordinate, fewer handoffs between trades and one team that can see how different parts of the property affect each other.
Utility and construction work can leave much more behind than an open trench. North Country provides property restoration to repair disturbed areas and help put the site back together when the primary work is complete.

That’s where having more capabilities in-house matters.
If we’re clearing a retention pond and discover a sinkhole, damaged concrete or a drainage problem, we don’t have to look at those issues through the lens of a single trade. If utility work disturbs a lawn, sidewalk, fence or landscape, restoration doesn’t have to become somebody else’s problem.
We look at the property as a whole, identify what needs to happen and determine how much of the solution North Country can provide.
North Country has grown by saying yes to problems that didn’t always fit neatly into an existing service category.
That willingness to figure things out has led us from our roots in landscaping and property services into excavation, utility support, right-of-way clearing, hydro excavation, stormwater maintenance, concrete work and specialized site services.
It has also given our crews something many contractors can’t easily replicate: experience working across disciplines.
We rarely subcontract our work. Our crews perform a broad range of services themselves, helping customers consolidate work that might otherwise require several contractors.
From hydro excavation to large-scale clearing and site restoration, we’ve invested in equipment that lets our crews take on work beyond conventional landscaping and property maintenance.
Every property and project is different. Our crews can scale and shift across capabilities depending on the work, the schedule and what the site requires.
Responsiveness and follow-through matter. When we make a commitment, we take responsibility for seeing it through and leaving the property with a finished result we’re proud to put our name on.
Some of North Country’s longest relationships started with one job and grew as customers realized how many other problems we could solve.

North Country Unlimited started in 1996 as a way to take on additional construction and property work.
As customers asked for more, North Country learned to do more.
A landscaping request led to another need. Utility customers asked for work outside the original scope. New equipment opened the door to new capabilities. New capabilities created opportunities to solve problems that other contractors couldn’t handle on their own.
That same approach still drives North Country today.
We’re not interested in being limited to one service, one type of project or one way of doing things. We keep learning, adding capabilities and finding better ways to solve the problems our customers put in front of us.
